Drawing from Jesus's personal letter to the church of Sardis in Revelation 3, this sermon calls the body of Christ to a reset in how believers relate to and rely upon the Holy Spirit. We are living in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit, a time when His work should be more visible and powerful than ever before. Yet the church, like Sardis, has drifted from dependence on the Holy Spirit and has replaced His guidance with self-reliance, modernism, and the opinions of others. Through an examination of the Holy Spirit's seven characteristics as referenced in Revelation 3:1, particularly as a counselor, helper, and intercessor, the sermon challenges believers to move the Holy Spirit to the forefront of their thinking and daily decision-making.
